CALLED IT is a free-to-play daily sports prediction game. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What Data We Collect

When you use CALLED IT, we may collect the following information:

• Email address -- provided when you create an account, used for authentication.
• Display name -- chosen by you, shown on leaderboards and your profile.
• Play history -- your daily picks (YES/NO predictions), XP totals, streak data, and achievement progress.
• IP address -- recorded automatically in server logs for security and abuse prevention.

Why We Collect It

We process your data on the legal basis of legitimate interest and, where applicable, your consent. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Create and maintain your account (authentication and profile).
• Record your predictions and calculate results, XP, streaks, and achievements.
• Display leaderboards and crowd percentages.
• Analyse aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to improve the game.

Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We use the following third-party service providers to operate CALLED IT:

• Supabase -- database hosting and user authentication. Your email, display name, and play history are stored in Supabase infrastructure.
• Vercel -- website hosting and edge functions. Server logs (including IP addresses) are processed by Vercel.
• API-Football -- sports data provider. No user data is shared with API-Football; we only retrieve fixture and result data from their service.

Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

• Strictly necessary cookies -- required for authentication and maintaining your login session. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies (optional) -- used only with your explicit consent to help us understand how the game is used. You can accept or reject these at any time via our cookie consent banner.

Data Retention

While your account is active, we retain your personal data and play history to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data (email, display name) within 30 days. Your historical picks will be anonymised and retained in aggregate form for the purposes of maintaining accurate crowd statistics, but they will no longer be linked to your identity.

Your Rights

Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access -- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction -- request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion -- request that we delete your personal data.
• Data portability -- request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Complaint -- if you are unsatisfied with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

CALLED IT is not directed at children under the age of 13. Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 13, you may only use the service with verified parental or guardian consent. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
